We had to get the camper spic and span because Bill and Lynn came today. We went to lunch at Appleby's, sat around and visited in the camper, it was rather cool out and made plans to go to their house next Tue. They are about 40 min. from us. They have a Huskie puppy.
Well where do I start. Jim was showing Bill pictures on his computer of Army buddies and I was on the couch with Lynn showing her scarves. I think I have a knitting friend. She crochets and wants to learn how to knit scarves. I am just the person that can teach her. Anyway Jim commented to Bill as he peered out the window how pretty the two doves were right outside the dining room window by the door. Not a minute later and I have to add we left the screen door open, one of the doves flew in the camper. I loved my reaction, I curled up on the floor and covered my head, everyone else was trying to catch the dove and within 10 seconds Makons caught the dove and shook it to death. There were feathers all over, just a little blood, she got one of my knitting bags spattered but she had a very satisfied look on her with feathers hanging out of her mouth. We really should have named her "Killer". Lynn felt bad about the bird. I felt bad about the mess. Do I not have a heart?
Bill went in law enforcement after his stint in the Army, his Dad and uncle were also police officers. Bill ended his career as a Police Chief and after retirement turned author. He has authored three books so far, two of which Jim has read. Now that is what you do when you retire. They are big fans of fifth wheeling and have customized their fifth wheel. Will be fun to see it on Tuesday. They have a hot tub and they want us to bring our suits. Happy to do it. We have three heated pools here with a couple of hot tubs but it has been too cold.
We went to church services tonight. They had a pot luck before church, just like at Bethesda. The church is new but very small, they have to move chairs and set up tables for the pot luck, such a nice service.
