I had a nice day Saturday with the exception of the Library. What do you know, the tempature was 43 inside when I got there. Got a hold of Bob at the Woodsman and he came over and it looks like it's the furnace. Amanda was working with me and it was her last day. We only worked an hour 10-11am. I was excited because my plan on going to G.R. could be earlier.
Amanda asked me if I would be willing to take her and her boyfriend and baby up to G.R. Shopping. Took me by surprise and I let her know I had to take my dogs with me and today wasn't a good day for me to take anyone because Jim is up at Red Lake and I was really looking forward to my alone time. I said no.
I just needed the day to myself. Call me selfish, call me a jerk but that's how I felt. Like a jerk.
Oh well, Amanda's problems are not mine.
I did run her out to the Junction for junk food and ciggerate's. I don't even know if that's how you spell it.
I need to change the subject.
Jim and John left early for Red Lake.
Got their limit. 4 walleyes each.
I went to Glen's and got another pair of polar Cleese pants and 5 pair of smart wool socks. They were 30% off and 2 pair of gloves.
Went to Christopher banks and found a wonderful pant jacket that is reversible - it is too cute, $19. I got a black velour pants and jacket, $19 for each piece, see a pattern here and a wonderful charcole pair of pants are being sent to me and I got two turtle necks and a black winter vest. Did I have fun, been a long time since I have gone clothes shopping. Now the truth is I don't need anything, but I just needed a change.
There are so many pretty things out there.
I went to Wal-mart and finished my grocery shopping.
Had a lovely dinner at home and watched some movie, but it must not have made much of an impression. Don't remember it but the day Before I watched "The Monument Men" and it was so good I told Dot about it she watched it yesterday. Soooooo good. I would watch again.

BLACK FRIDAY
Well here we are the day after we all over ate.
I did make a pumpkin pie with praline pecan topping that was quite good. I would make again. In fact I may for next week at Mac's house.
We see Johnny Mathis on the 4th and I am too excited.
I would love it if he had a Christmas ornament like I got for White Christmas when we went.
White Christmas is back but it's this week.
Can't do everything.
We did so enjoy going to the the Reif.
I need to get someone that is willing to see The Nutcracker with me.
I will work on that.
I was trying to download a picture of Mac-Ali & Skye but it didn't go well.
I wish I was better at this.
As my son would say, "Mom, blogging is so over, no one blogs anymore". Well I do. I hate the thought of having to do something else. Maybe Jean (my computer geni) will be able to help me on my new computer.
Isn't it funny, her name is Jean and she is a Computer Geni.
It was 10 below yesterday at this time and it's 8 above today, maybe I can get out to the pole building today. Got to find my tree topper.
I need a new sweater, I thought maybe some shopping.
We will see.
Had a really nice day yesterday.
Quite but nice.
Kids just live so far away you just can't come for a day.
John is supposed to come today and he and Jum are going up to Red Lake.
Jim just brought home a 25" walleye Wednesday. Was he happy.
The kids got to see their Dad the night before Thanksgiving so that was nice. He took them out to Pub 42 by Mac's house, the old Sunshine Factory. Good food.

THANKSGIVING DAY
I have so much to be thankful for. First God in my life, my wonderful husband Jim who is so good to me and for me,
and all of our children and grandchildren.
We are blessed and our blessings are overflowing. I wonder how I deserve all of the blessings I recieve. I will just accept them because I believe it's my faith that has made it all possible.
Having a wonderful time in our church family, we had our Holidar Bazaar over the weekend. Huge success. Alexis and the kids were here. River came in to help bag up the goodies that were purchased.
We made $1400 for the baked goods and crafts. YAHOO!
We sold lots after church on Sunday too.
Monday I took my sewing machine to P&D Sewing because the thread keeps getting stuck.
We shopped of course, seems we live to shop. I see Sam's is having
a sale on their blenders and I may just get one, works like a food
processor and my food processor is slowly breaking the plastic off the thingie that goes around. I am sure that is clear. Second time it's chipped away. Piece of junk and its a kitchen aid food processor. Anyway I saw the early bird ad in line for Friday.
I had made a huge turkey dinner on Sunday and sent leftovers home with Alexis and certainly have some for myself.
On thanksgiving I am having ham. We have had lots of turkey.
Stuffing, sweet potatoes, stuffing (with wild rice and water
chestnuts), corn souffle' lots of mashed potatoes and gravey. The
gravey was really good this year. I surely love to eat.
So we did get our shopping done on Monday and I got up early Tuesday and made a pecan pie, I will make a pumpkin pie shortly, love pumpkin pie. Jim has plenty of other pies.
Went and worked at the Library on Tuesday from 9-12 and went over to the church to help with Elaine Sandefur's memorial service. She finally lost her battle with ALS.
We were out of church by 4:30 and had had Thanksgiving Services
at 7:00 Tueday night with pir after. Linda and I worked in the
kitchen and wonderful Heather popped in to help. She is such a sweetheart.
I didn't do anything WEdnesday except some wash and I went over to visit June and Linda. Always enjoy their visits. So lucky to have them for neighbors.

SUNDAY MORNING
I am going to have pumpkin pie for breakfast. Isn't being old wonderful, you can do just what you please.
Just made a coffee and didn't estimate cup size correctly, coffee running all over counter.
Typical of me, eyes just can't judge size.
Well our Bake sale is over and what fun it was. I did have lots of fun. Working the sale, donating, baking, the Christian fellowship is just too wonderful. Jean and Pam worked the kitchen, Linda, coordinated everything and Audrey and Lorretta the cashiered. Gail came and worked. She is too adorable in her new wig. We will be seeing some fun things on her during her chemo process. Darlene was there working. I am sure I am missing someone but we did sell $1000 between 9-3 and I also have deposited a bunch.
We have so many to pray for at church, Janet is recovering at a rehab center, Nancy G from her shingles and Nancy J is in intensive care in Crosby. It looks like God wants her home.
We have Elaine's funeral tomorrow. God bless her and Bill. It will be so tough on him without her.
We have bone builders at 10 am today and I am going to check with Linda about having a bible study at her house or see if Lorretta is interested.
The sale and luncheon at church went well and Fran brought the whole Garden Club for lunch. They were decorating at the park.
The BBQ's almost all went, River will eat the rest.
Jean bought the leftover hotdogs.
We were just blessed, all the pies went except one or two and they will go today at church.
The quilt auction is going well. Heck I have been buying tickets.
Alexis threw her back out in bed on Friday night - she twisted it or something. I know it doesn't take much.
She has had to lay down all day Saturday.
River and I had fun at church.
I have all of the Thanksgiving dinner made and I just have to put the Bird in the oven.

PIES PIES AND MORE PIES AND LET'S NOT FORGET THE COOKIES
Well today is Friday and boy was yesterday busy. My blood sugar is way up. Too much pumpkin pie and Krumkaka.
Alexis and the kids are coming up and I forgot we have the Reif tonight. I guess the kids will be here befo
Re us. What a twit, we made the reservations long before I knew Alexis was coming. It will work out - I am going to have River in the sewing room. Too cold for the pole building.
I am listening to Christmas music. I have over 60 cd's I have to start early. My least favorite is the soulful Christmas songs. Just not me.
Well I made a cherry pie for Jim, a pumpkin pie for me and I have the most spectular pumpkin pie container made by Fran Nicolson, why she has a kiln in her basement. Who knew.
Then I made 2 pecan pies, I think I over baked them.
I went over to Linda and June's for a quick updat visit and she had potatoes that needed delivering to Lorretta's, did that, then I went to the store for eggs and evaporated milk. Stopped over at the Muni and picked up a sold out pull tab game for the Lion's and took it to Nancy Green's, now that was a fun stop. Her daughter debbie was there making lefse and I liked her recipe a lot. She has just a little sugar in it. I will try it that way. It browns the lefse a little. Even got a piece and shared it with Nancy and Skee, Nancy said she had never had it warm.
Well she hasn't lived - has she?
Made my 2 pumpkin Pies and we went back to town to clean church with Linda. What a fun day. We have the basement pretty much ready for the sale. Got the money & Stuff - wish I had some balloons.
Had a nice dinner and I really need to get some cleaning done before the kids get here.
House could look better.

DATES IN BLOG ARE CONFUSING I KNOW
As I was saying on November 16th Mac and Huddie came too Skye's salon and so did Alexis, River and Autumn. We all had hair cuts except Mac. He had just had one and we stopped at Taco Bell on the way back to Skyes to do the sheet rock in her basement. It got finished so now Skye can really move forward.
She is a wonder.
Got home by 4:30.
Last Thursday WELCA was cancelled so the meeting was rescheduled for MONDAY night right after The Lions meeting. I am going to do Tres. Position for another two years anyway.
Fine with me, I am really fretting the hang of it in quicken. Just had 2013 justified by Nancy S. So all is well with the world.
Tuesday and Wednesday I have been baking up a storm and we did run to the Rapids for groceries. We spent $300 there. My goodness.
I have made cut out cookies and decorated them, sugar and chocolate chip cookies, Russian tea cakes and sour cream banana nut bread, even an apply pie for Jim. Have a pumpkin in the oven. Lots more baking to do for the sale.
Which by the way is Saturday. I made the BBQ's and will pick up the buns and hot dogs today. Sounds like Saturday is going to be nice. So much on the brain.
Advertising is done. Flyers are up. LEFSE in freezer.
We clean the church today. My sewing machine is on the fritz, I think some thread is stuck. I am about to check it out.
Tomorrow night we see Sweet Dreams and Honkey Tonk at the Reif.
I need to get start up cash too.

WEEKEND AND MONDAY MORNING NOVEMBER 3rd
I don't even remember the weekend.
I know I went to church on Sunday. Monday morning I went to the dedication for the Habitat house that is going up in Remer. Then I went home and made 2 egg bakes and 2 hot dishes for Bill and about 3 I went over for a visit. Stayed 2-3 hours. It was a good visit, his son had Bev there over the weekend and his daughter was coming Tuesday night. He is going to miss Elaine but seeing what ALS does to someone is really hard to take. They were married 48 years.
Tuesday we went to Little Falls.

THURSDAY NOVEMBER 20th
Well, where does the time go anyway
On Sunday the 9th I started selling raffle tickets at church for the twin quilt Ruth Pflaum made for the craft sale. I thought we could get more for it if we sold chances. Maybe not.
On Monday the 10th we went over to Walker and visited Elsie Kleman. She is having trouble with the old ticker. We brought her flowers from the ladies at church.
Tuesday was a busy busy day, we had the annual church cleaning and I threw my back out. Must have been from cleaning the pews. We had a pot luck after and Janet Brown had her back surgery that morning and thing went well for the back surgery but she got a blood clot at the incision site. Bummer, recovery is not going well, she is still in hospital as far as I know.
Coffee is wonderful. I ate so many of the cookies I baked I feel like a cookie.
We had The Habitat Dinner Tuedsay night at Deer Haven.
We bid on and for $100 donation we got a gas card, gift card from The Woodsman and some Twins stuff. A good deal all around.
WEDNESDAY I know we had. Bible study twice.
THURSDAY I think we did 20# of LEFSE for church and Susan and I worked the meat raffle, and the liquor raffle. We continued the liquor raffle on Friday night so we could sell all the tickets. I think we did anyway, I could be getting my weeks confused. Ya think.
I know I do because this is the weekend I go to Mac's for Lefse.
Went down FRIDAY about noon and talked to Mac that morning and guess what, Laura had plans on going to a play in Ham Lake her niece was in. Pride and Prejustice, what fun for me to be able to go with her. I love Jane Austen's writings.
We went to Moe's first for dinner.
LEFSE the next morning at Shepherd of the Hills Church.
There were 18 of us and we did only 20# of LEFSE but it sure was fun. That night we went to Mac's and played Phase 10 rummy. Too fun.

MY SLIPPER'S - MY SLIPPER'S
Well - if you lived up North you would understand why they are so important. Heidi gave me a pair of Emu slippers one year for some occasion and I fell in love with them. They keep my poor toes toastie warm. Jim said I couldn't wear them any more because the sole of the slipper keeps coming off in pieces.

FRIDAY IT CONTINUES
Linda and I met at church and bagged up the LEFSE. We will be freezing the next batch we do next Thursday. We sold all of it after the service on Sunday. I have deposited $135.00 for the craft sale so far and we haven't even had the sale yet.
We drove to G.R. To pick up a new motor for Jim's boat, the old one just didn't do it justice.
We also picked up a pocket door at the habitat store for Skye.
I make us a wonderful chicken dinner and packed up containers for her to have a chicken dinner and a ham dinner with mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn soufflé and wonderful gravy.
Skye got my printer going but I need Jean to finish the process. I will get to it.
Saturday I worked around here, there is always work to do and i really need to spend time in the sewing room.
SUNDAY was church and I did get all the letters ready for mailing for our craft sale on Nov 22nd.
We need to advertise the heck out of it and I have been busy making scarfs but I need to do baked potatoe bags and dog beds. Busy busy busy.
Back to MONDAY and I went to the habitat dedication.
Had to get home so I could do Bill's meals. It was fun too and we had such a nice visit.
TUESDAY is today and we get shots in our eyes today. First we are meeting Alexis to get her passport.
Then shots and busy busy, got 5 dozen cookies made for the boys this weekend. Have to keep Jim from eating them all. Both he and I are weak when it comes to cookies.

CATCH UP DAY
Well let's hope I can play catch up today.
On MONDAY we met at 9:30 for Habitat and 10 for Bone Builders which they are changing to TUESDAY.
We met with our insurance guy and we are changing our supplementary insurance. Yes yes I understand none of it.
What would I do without Jim's brain. I really don't know.
What he sees in me is a mystery.
MONDAY night is a blur but nights usually are. I get up so early. Gail is sure on our mind. She went to Duluth with Dick about her breast cancer. Prayers for them.
Tuesday prayers for Bill. Elaine died today from ALS. They were married 48 years and she is my age, she was 73 July 18th and me, July 21st. It was tough seeing her deteriorate over the years. She was just the sweetest lady.
I went out to Bills, brought egg bakes and hot dishes and cookies.
We had a wonderful visit. He is good company and their home is
exquisite. You should see the counted cross stitch art work Elaine did. So very beautiful.
WEDNESDAY we went to Duluth to pick up a new boat. I really like it. The transome on our old boat is bent. Whatever that is. Time for a new one and we had lunch at The Olive Garden. Fun.
WEDNESDAY I got potatoes ready for our big LEFSE day tomorrow. I only made 5 pounds and Linda made 5 pounds.
Wonderful Skye came home. I so enjoy her visits. She was here by
9pm and we were in at church to do LEFSE by 8am. Heck we
were done by 10 am. I had picked up flowers for Nancy Green.
Found out she has schingles, poor thing. Skye and I brought flowers over to her house and stayed for a visit and Nancy mentioned she needed to wash her hair the next day and Skye popped up and asked if she might not was her hair for her.
It's her thing. She did too.
We went home and Jim and I met Linda at church at 3pm and cleaned church. We didn't have release time after all, it's only
every other week, no one ever told Linda. Anyway we were done
In fast fashion.early because Linda was there at 1:30.
THURSDAY is meat raffle night of course and Susan worked with me. Skye got a kick out it I think. Od course I am so proud of her I introduce her to the whole bar.
