Friday night we went to the evening service, it was the Holden Evening Service and I love the music.
Of course the first order of business was to elect a new Bishop for the Northeastern Synod and we did that by re-electing Bishop Tom Aitken. I think he got 87% of the vote, it's a 6 year term. This would be his second term. He seems to be a wonderful leader. He is based out of Duluth. I thought we had 5 chapters to our synod but it was announced we have 6 so it shows what I know.
Bishop Tom Aitken Reelected on First Ballot
On Friday, May 2, Bishop Tom Aitken was reelected for a second term as Bishop of the Northeastern Minnesota Synod on the first ballot with 285 of the 333 legal votes cast. A service of Affirmation of Ministry at the Reelection of a Synodical Bishop was included in Sunday morning's worship at the Assembly.
