LYNN DIED
Well it is hard to imagine Mary Ann without Lynn. It is Saturday and my brother Lynn died at 4am on May 22nd from many things but it was congestive heart failure that took him in the end.
Mary Ann of course is Lynn's wife and it all started with Pneumonia. Maybe it started long ago with how we take care of ourselves. He didn't and his rheumatoid arthritis was so debilitating.
I wish Mary Ann all the best but she doesn't take care of herself either. Heavy smokers they are and were. She is as thin as a rail. She can't weigh 100#.
I went home this time on Monday, I try to be low key and helpful to Mary Ann but what a pain I must be. At least to her. We did meet and pick out some music other than "There is a Tear in My Beer".
Lynn is in a giant Budweiser Beer bottle and that is appropriate because he was a fixture at "Bubba's".
In fact we left the funeral home and we went two doors down to "Bubba's" to toast Lynn and even the Pastor went and toasted Lynn with a coke. It really was the thing to do.
We invited family out to Mark's for sandwiches after. It went well, I had an opportunity to visit with cousins that I don't see often.
Heidi and I also went to see Uncle Don, Stanley's brother and he is it. Everyone else of his generation is gone and he will be 90 on July 27th. A big celebration coming.
Everyone gone on Mom's side. It was wonderful to see my cousin Pam and her friend Jim. Her daughter is getting married at end of June. She will make a beautiful bride. It was fun to see classmates. I saw Darrel and Patty Muhl, I hadn't see Darrel since his stroke. Wonderful Nancy and Lynn drove all the way up from Minneapolis. I talked to Alma and her husband. I called him John. Silly girl, that was Alma's late husband. Apologized.
So good to see cousins Bruce & Friend Connie, Sheila and her husband and of course Glen and Wife Patty. My Dad's sister Myrtle's kids were there. Talked to Marquita and Perry and Kay and his
friend and can't for the life of me remember her name. It was too wonderful to see sister in law Ruth with her husband Ken and of course Roger's son Jimmy.
I am sure I missed people but we have a small family and I missed mentioning sister Sonja who flew in from Arizona. She and I shared a room at Brother Marks and sister Heidi and Pat stayed at a hotel in Marshall. Mark has the perfect place for gathering and we got to spend time with Mark's son Jason and his wife Tara and the 4 kids. Mark's girlfriend Jean had to work a lot but what a wonderful person. Fun to get to know her better and I wish I would have got her together with Lynn from Biwabik. Lynn knew the Gislason's so well because of her late husband Lyle.
Lynn Rekkedahl, 74, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at his residence in Minneota, under the care of Prairie Home Hospice.
A memorial service was to be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Rehkamp-Horvath Funeral Home in Minneota.
A private burial will be held at a later date. read entire story. . . .

IT IS SATURDAY AND I AM TIRED
Of course I know I do it to myself but so many fun opportunities in life and I don't want to miss a single one. We had a good Bible Study on Wednesday. A good group, I am such a novice but I love it. So much to sort out and the parables will forever be confusing but I believe and that's all that matters.

WEDNESDAY AND JIM FLEW THE COOP
Well here we are with me trying like a crazy woman trying to fix my computer and take it from offline to online so I can print out my letters for our rummage sale. In have to get them out today. I sent them to Jim's computer but we can't get things to print at 100%. Isn't it wonderful not having a clue. Skye will help me when she gets to work.
Jim took off to the cities and I had typed a whole bunch but it all disappeared because I was offline.
I just can't rehash it again and I am going to the neighbor's for coffee then to the pole building to find stuff for the rummage sale and it is time to haul a bunch of stuff in.

OK I FORGET - IT IS TUESDAY
It is still raining, supposed to stop but it rained all day yesterday, doesn't the weather man know it is only supposed to rain after dark and be done by morning.
Sucks - I forgot to go to serve at the High School Banquet. The Lions work the Banquet. I am sure they had enough help and I don't mind missing it but I mind if I am just sitting at home.
What a twit.
Talked to Joyce Brown and she is a Lion and will be sorely missed. Susan and I will work together on meat raffle stuff. Won't kill us. We can do this. It is a lot more fun if two people do it.
We just need volunteers.
I will miss Joyce.
Well what is going on today.
When I got home yesterday I stopped over to Linda and June's right across the street and said hi to Skip. He is Linda's twin.
Lives in Coure d Alene Idaho. Hear it's beautiful. Can't wait for our summer trip. Will be fun to trip across Canada.
OK all I did yesterday was unpack, do laundry ect.
Boring day but any day I am above ground is a good day.
My brother Lynn is not doing so well, he had congestive heart failure and pneumonia and other life threatening things going on and hospice is involved now so it is just a matter of time.
I feel bad I can't do more but his wife just doesn't want me around. I am a bossy cow to her and who knows, maybe I am.
You don't even know after awhile. Anyway I can care from afar. I managed to have some time with him when he was hospitalized. I prayed with and for him and will continue to do so. He is only 74, beings I am 72 I think of 74 as young.
He is hanging in there. Dieing is sometimes a long, slow painful process, and a lot of work.
I had best get to work on the Rummage Sale for church. Plenty to do.

MONDAY NIGHT AND. MAY SHOWERS
Well Hi on a Monday night, can you stand it, I am on my third half glass of red wine, drinking a "Black Box" of red wine. Kill me, I figure if I drink half glasses they don't count.
Go figure.
My Mac and My Jim (silly huh) but I think of them as mine. I love them them so, they met at Lake Mille Lacs to do some Bass fishing and had to turn around and go home because of wind and rain. That was this morning. I returned from Skye's house, boy I love staying at her house.
She makes me and my room so cosy, it's a skill. She and Alexis are so special, I am blessed. Why didn't I have kids at 12. We won't guess why but I love my kids so much I wish I would have had them with me earlier. Mac, Alexis and Skye have been such a delight.
Let's get to my weekend.
How fun, Sunday was the big day but what fun Skye and I had
Friday, we got to babysit Hope and Hudson so Mac and Laura could have date night. Eleven years of marriage and date night is still so important. Good for them.
They went to Travail and had an ten course meal. Yummy. A one to two hour wait but worth it.

BLOG BLOG BLOG
Well here I am and I know I haven't visited my blog forever.
Since I have been home a lot has happened.
First and foremost my brother Lynn is now in hospice.
I was probably home a week just starting to get settled in and what a job that is. Moving a whole camper (cabin) in my dining room, and finding room for everything.
I got a call saying Lynn was in Marshall hospital and he needed to be airlifted to Sioux Falls hospital.
On a Wednesday I took off for Minneota, a 5 hour drive from my house and the next morning my brother Mark who also lives in Minneota about a 1/2 a mile from Lynn and I took off for Sioux Falls which is a 2 hour drive from Minneota.
Lynn made it through the night, it all started with pneumonia and went South from there.
There are so many thing that are wrong with Lynn, he is almost 75 and I just can't see him making it. His congestive heart failure and R. A. His Selpy syndrome, whatever that is, he has a blood clot in his leg and all of a sudden he is falling apart.
He is Under 100#. Not eating and he has tubes behind his lungs draining fluid out.
I feel good about my trip to see him though I can't seem to get his wife to understand I just want the nurses to tell me what's going on and not take over his care. I must not have handled that well. Can you imagine me not being tactful. Right.
I am down to see the kids a second weekend in a row.
I saw them over Mothers Day and this weekend is Skye's Birthdat. She is 39 on Monday. Makes me feel old and you should see the shape she is in. She is perfect. 135# and tall. You should see her arm muscles. Incredible, and Alexis looks 25 and she is now 40. Aren't I blessed. Of course Mac is perfect. You should see the pretty scarf Hope picked out for me for Mother's Day and the wine I got from Mac and Laura from their trip to Napa Valley.
Today Skye and I are going to Mac's early so we can help pick up trash in French park for their church. Will be a ton of people there because it is a big church.
Skye and I and Mac and Ryan Hop and Karen and Randa and my friend Nancy are going out on Mac's pontoon today and have beer and hot dogs.
I am pumped, too much fun.
I feel real bad for Lynn and Mary Ann. Prayers appreciated.

OK I AM CONTINUING MY TUESDAY BLOG
I am goinging to just continue from here, I am not able to type in my last post anymore and I don't know why and who cares. I will just carry on.
We has a wonderful sermon Friday night about our Baptism. It is funny, it caused Jim and I to have the conversation about us being baptized when we were children and he doesn't even know for sure or not if he was baptized. He has become such a wonderful Christian. He remembers his Mother was a Catholic before she married his Dad. They were brouht up Methodist and one od his Great Grandmother's was instrumental in founding a Methodist church in Northeast Minneapolis.
Back to the assembly, the focus was our baptism and there was coffee with the Bishop after, we passed on that and went to our lovely room, we were at Breezy Point Resort and had a wonderful King bed, Whirlpool tub, beautiful sitting room with fireplace and walkout so we could keep a close eye on the dogs. We had to bring them with. Worked out fine.
You wouldn't believe the deer that were right outside our window, and a waterway to the lake.
Saturday was a long day. I think we had breakfast with our Pastor Dale and his wife Gwen.
Saturday was fun, we had a wonderful keynote speaker right in the morning.

TUESDAY AND HOME
Well here we are back home. Long weekend in some aspects and too short in others. TIme is a funny thing.
Friday night we went to the evening service, it was the Holden Evening Service and I love the music.
Of course the first order of business was to elect a new Bishop for the Northeastern Synod and we did that by re-electing Bishop Tom Aitken. I think he got 87% of the vote, it's a 6 year term. This would be his second term. He seems to be a wonderful leader. He is based out of Duluth. I thought we had 5 chapters to our synod but it was announced we have 6 so it shows what I know.

Bishop Tom Aitken Reelected on First Ballot

On Friday, May 2, Bishop Tom Aitken was reelected for a second term as Bishop of the Northeastern Minnesota Synod on the first ballot with 285 of the 333 legal votes cast. A service of Affirmation of Ministry at the Reelection of a Synodical Bishop was included in Sunday morning's worship at the Assembly.

WED-THURS-FRIDAY
Well we made it back and there was lots and lots of laundry. We unloaded the camper into my dining room and it got so bad I could hardly walk. What ever possesses people to do this to themselves, oh ya that's right, our wonderful Minnesota winters.
We are sitting at the Dockside Bar at Breezy Point resort waiting for our meal, I am having pizza, been awhile. We then got to worship at 6 pm. Will check in later.
