These three cactus are by the glass sculptor Dale Chihuly. I think they are too too beautiful.

This bird is a Cactus Wren. Jim got really close and it turned out so beautiful. We almost got a picture of a Gambel's Quail.

DESERT BOTANICAL GARDEN

I can't believe it's already 2pm. We left about 9am for TJ Eggington's for breakfast. Yummy and then headed for the Botanical Gardens in Phoenix. We were there a good hour and a half and enjoyed it very much. Lots of wildflowers too. I have some pictures to add. Jim went and extended our stay here through the middle of April. Rates sure go down in April from 55 or so a day to 18 a day. Bet the park will start to really empty out. Not us, we are die hards. Already 83 out and tomorrow it should be 90 or
92. YIKES!

MONDAY AND THE WILDFLOWER BREAD COMPANY

I had a luncheon date with Carol K. That is Dot's sister and she used to live with Dot and I back in the early 70ies. She is two years younger that Dot. She came over to the camp about 11:30 and we sat around for at least an hour visiting with Jim. We then went to her favorite eating place, The Wildflower Bread Company. I had their Caribbean Salad, Carol had Sweet Potato Soup and a sandwich. Bread is great. Guess who forgot their coin purse with all her credit cards and money. Yes, ME. I owe her lunch and we will do it again. She took me on a tour of her favorite shopping right across the street and then to her home which is part of a development, lovely, we sat and talked for hours. It was too too fun.

WONDERFUL WEEKEND

We went to church Saturday night instead of Sunday and that worked out well because on Sunday Elsie and Don invited us to a picnic at the Water Park and we met them at their place at 9am Sunday morning and walked all around the Water Park and had a lovely picnic. Elsie put on quite a spread. We just sat around the park on Sunday afternoon and relaxed. Took the dogs for walks, there is a park right across the street. You would not believe how filthy Otto gets. His feet just turn black and I have to pop him in the shower and wash them.

SHOP TILL YOU DROP

Dee made me cranberry scones and they were wonderful, from her house we went to Hobby Lobby, a crafts store, it was too fun. All I bought were blunt needles but the yarn, too beautiful for words. From there we did TJ Maxx, I needed a new suit and some slacks. We stopped for lunch at a place called
In-N-Out. Berger's were just OK but the french fries were divine. We spent the afternoon driving around and she showed me where she works and we visited two Goodwill Stores. I got a few things and set a basked aside. Wanted to get it at 1/2 price next day. She then took me over to Sonja's and we sat around and had some snacks and visited.
On Saturday Sonja made me a wonderful breakfast and we went back to that Goodwill Store and I did manage to get the basked for my plant at 1/2 price. Someone had moved it and I thought it was gone but I found it just before they did. Too fun. Sonja found a new set of mattresses for her twin bed. Lovely set. She called Kim when we got home and she came over for a visit. Fun to see her again and Jim and the kids showed up about 2 to take me back to the park.

OFF TO DEDE'S

Time just gets away from you. Here it is Tuesday already and I haven't posted since Thursday. Well After our pizza stop I talked to DeDe and she came over Thurs after work and picked me up. We went to Three Margaritas for a fun Mexican dinner. I had fajitas and we went around her neighborhood. Fun night and I stayed at her house in Phoenix. It's about 45 miles from our camper. She has four cats. I didn't even bring my camera. Slept in her Murphy bed in the guest bedroom. We sat up till midnight and talked. Too fun. She show me her wonderful jewelry collection, she makes all kinds of wonderful things.

ORGAN STOP PIZZA

We went to this pizza place about 5-6 miles from here and what a fun experience. They have the largest organ outside of a church in the world. Of course how many pizza parlors have organs. Hummmmmmmmmmmm - really good pizza and they put on a show for us. We went with about 50 from our park and there were many other groups too. Large place and for $7.50 you got all the pizza you could eat and a salad. 4 kinds of pizza with crispy crust. Lots of cheese and yummy. The organist put on a one hour show and he was pretty amazing. I almost had to gag Jim. He just turned his hearing aids down and tolerated the music. He too liked the pizza. He only ate 3 or 4 and I ate 5. We went with Marybeth and Ronnie. It's already 84 out so it's hot. I LOVE IT! Jim is napping. So are the kids.
