IT IS FEB - CAN GOING SOUTH BE A REALITY

Well here we are in Feb. - On Jan. 31st I finally met with Dr. Oxenhadler in Duluth and he said we need to wear the neck brace another 10-12 weeks so I may as well wear it until I get back to Minnesota. Should be hot by then. It is either that or surgery and I am in no hurry to hear I need my neck fused whatever that entails. Yuck.
We finally had a thaw - last two days have been beautiful, over freezing. So nice to see some of the ice melt off my little three trees I have on the deck.
Some sad news - we had Lillian put into hospital on Friday night because of some health issues. Been up to see her every day but she sleeps most of the time and doesn't communicate at all. She is now 99. My goodness to live to be so old. I think she will recover, her heart and blood pressure are excellent so it's just a matter of time until she is back to her normal.

CAT SCAN REPORT

Here I thought I was going to get some good news yesterday and my Local Dr. O. called me today and told me she was not happy when she read the report. I am not heading as I should and I have no idea what that means. New Neck? Anyway under no circumstances am I to go without my brace and to make sure I keep my appt. with Dr. Oxenhadler in Duluth on the 31st. All I can say to that is Oh Darn.

CLEANING BIG FISH IN SNUGGIE

Well there is no doubt that we will be having Walleye Filets today, tomorrow and the next day. BIG FISH.

Jim came home from his Thurs - Fri. night fishing weekend (a weekend is whenever you want it to be when you are retired) with a 28" walleye fish!

We usher at church this weekend. I have been baking like a crazy person but it's fun. Made Blond Brownies, Chocolate Cookies, Cranberry Nut Oatmeal Cookies and Date Oatmeal Nut Cookies.

A NEW YEAR 2011

I wanted to have a picture of Otto and Makons on my blog. We just had a new stained glass window put in by Dale Hillstrom of Federal Dam. We love it and also have new granite on the face of our fireplace.

I haven't visited my blog forever. Lots has happened but what I am excited about is in one week I get a cat-scan on my broken neck - I have had this collar brace on since Nov 19th and I am ready to have it removed. The new year is certainly a year to celebrate.

Our Skye has a new home in Mounds View and has become quite the fixer upper. Lots of fixing to be done but just think of it, all our kids have their own home and they are all currently working and that is cause enough to celebrate.

Our Mac and Laura are expecting a baby late April. A boy to go along with big sister Hope. What a blessing. Mac had a successful surgery last Nov and got his basement finished before his surgery.

It was more than fun to have Alexis and Skye here overnight on Christmas Day. Now that was all the Christmas present I needed but Jim still came through with a bunch of "Oscar" stuff. My kids will forever know me to smell like "Oscar".

We will be ushering for the next 3 weeks so I am starting the baking now. Made Oatmeal-Cranberry Nut Cookies yesterday and will make another cookie this week but don't know what yet.

Had prayer group this morning. So much to pray for in this crazy world we live in. We prayed for the Tucson victims and families and for the shooter. How tormented he must be or full of the devil. Don't know which but needs our prayers and so does his family.

I cannot wait till I am writing about our trip South in our new camper. My 25th Wedding Anniversary present. Jim is full of surprises and My sister Heidi and brother Mark are going to fly out to Laughlin in April to visit us. Yipee Skipee.

A WEEK OUT AND IT IS SEPT 1st.

Well well well, Have news, We bought a new camper and we pick it up today at 10 m. We are in Ishpeming MI - we have been camping exactly one week today and our second night was in Union Campground in the Porcupine Mts. Our third night was in Baraga State Park. you should see the statue of Frederic Baraga, it's huge, and we even had a fire there, it' been in the 90ies all week and then we spent two nights at Mclain State Park way up in the Northern part of the U.P. so we could drive to Copper Canyon. We stopped in Ishpeming to pick up parts for our camper and ended up buying a new one. It's a beautiful camper, now I have to figure out how to put the U tube video on my blog. Like I will be able to figure that out. Mac where are you when I need you. Work I suppose. Too fun today with it being our first night in the new camper. So excited. Pick it up at 10 am. It is raining out now. we heard they had bad weather in Remer all day yesterday. Later.

LAKE SUPERIOR CIRCLE TOUR

It is funny, I just have been busy since my Lake of the Woods fishing trip. We had or Remer Harvest Festival the second weekend in Aug. We were super busy the day of and I had picked up Autumn and River so I could have them with me for a few days. Their second long visit this summer. Had them for 5 nights. They sure are fun to have around. We rode the bee to town every day we could for ice cream and they were in the parade for me for the Garden Club. I was busy at the fire hall and this year we actually ran out of sandwiches. A first. As cashier looking down at the line was pretty overwhelming. I think we made over $2000. Next year we will price meals, not individual food items. Will be so much easier.

The goal was to have all the kids up the same weekend, didn't work out that way but it sure was fun anyway. Had John & Pam, the four kids and a very nice friend of Alex's, Phil, Carrie & Dave and the kids and of course the two labs, Alex and the two kids and Buddie, Jeff was at his 20Th class reunion so he couldn't make it and Skye had to work on Sat so she couldn't make it and Mac got strep on Thurs so he Laura and Hope couldn't make it. Next year we will do it the middle of Aug and maybe everyone can make it. I love seeing them all together. I was even able to get the house back together so when we come home it will be to a clean house. I love it

BACK TO THE LAKE SUPERIOR CIRCLE TOUR

,This is our first night, it's at Northland Camping & RV Park. Address is South Range WI. We are only 5 minutes out of Lake Superior, we have stayed here before three years ago when we stayed 5 night up in Two Harbors on the North Shore and came here for two nights. It was the year before we saw the tall ships and we drove up for a Sunday this year to see 8 tall ships, There were only 3 the first trip to see the tall ships.
We didn't leave Remer until at least 1 pm. We drove to Duluth/Superior via Grand Rapids, I misplaced the camera somewhere, Jim got us a new one. I wish I could remember where. I think Jim plans on cutting across to Ashland WI or somewhere - anyway it's about a 4 hour drive, I don't want to hurry around the circle, I got him out here camping and I have to take full advantage of it. It is now 6:15 am and I have been up for hours. Brought two library books, turns out I have read one before but it was a good read, I will read it again. They are in large print so it's easier. That's why I use bold, it is so much easier to see. We both got shots in our left eye on Tue before we left, I also got lazer in mine. What fun. We are greatful they have treatment for both of us.
