Been busy every day this week. Haven't even had time to work at the Library and did so enjoy the job of putting books in their system. We have now cataloged over 4500 books. Not bad for a grass roots effort.
Last week was so cold we cancelled Lion's on Mon, Bible Study on Tue, WELCA on Wed, was able to have Crafter's on Thurs, in fact we had 8 of us at crafter's. Too fun. Then I left on Thur. for my Sister's cabin, a big storm was coming and Heidi wanted us not to have to drive in it.
Left Thurs aftn. about 1pm I think and got there about 4:30 or so. We met at Hole in the Wall Casino, it's about 5 min. from her cabin. Easier to have her lead me there from Danbury WI where the casino was. Speaking of Casino's - can everyone hear me. I SHOULD BE TYPING IN CAPS AS IF I AM SHOUTING. I WON $2500 ON A QUARTER SLOT. I SPENT $1.25 OF MY OWN MONEY TO GET IT. YIPEE SKIPEE! OK now you say how can that be. I went and signed up for a players card and they gave me $5 worth of play to start. Well do ya feel lucky? Well do ya punk? As a matter of fact I wasn't giving it any thought at all and I was talking to my sister Sonja out in Phoenix while I was playing, I had 3 hours to kill and was willing to spend $10 of my own money. All of a sudden this machine said I won 10,000 credits and I wasn't thinking, I had no idea what it meant so Sonja and I kept talking and the machine kept whirling. Finally after about five minutes a lady shows up and asked me if I wanted federal taxes taken out and I still didn't have a clue why, because I didn't know how much I had won. She said look up and at the top of the machine it said I had won $2500. I about laffed out loud. After all was said and done they gave me a check for $1800 after taxes and I had to spin one more time, I actually spun the machine 3 times so I spent an additional $1.50 and cashed in the rest of the $10 I started with and walked away with $6.75 and went to the bar. Margarita's were on sale for $3. Happy PJ, had two and made them last until Heidi showed up. We went to a local place for dinner in town and had the best burger and onion rings. Big spender PJ is, we split the burger. It was huge and I followed her to her cute quaint little cabin in the wood.
It started snowing through the night and snowed all day Friday. Must have got at least 8-10 inches of snow. What fun we had trudging through the snow, we went for a walk, Heidi makes the best breakfast ever. Too bad Mark, our brother couldn't have been there but next year will be different. Both Heidi and Mark will be retired. I am so glad for them. Heidi and I played Mexican Train Domino's, Rummy, Three's away dice game and Sequence. What fun we had just knitting, I made two scarves and left them, she embroidered. What a good time we had. She did breakfast, I did dinner more or less. We would have beer in the afternoon and wine in the evening with a White Russian for bedtime. No we didn't over do it.
We used a sled to take things to her cabin from the garage. We never went down to the lake, so much snow and they are on a hill. What a wonderful log house retreat. I took pictures on my Iphone and now I have to figure out how to get them here. I will, it will just take some time.
Got home Sunday about 2pm and Jim and the babies were glad to see me. Since so much got cancelled last week they piled it on this week. Monday the Crafter ladies, Lorretta, Elaine and their walkers and Linday and I went to Bemidji to go to Ben Franklin. That store is amazing, my goodness you could spend a tone of time there, we topped it off my eating at their Chinese buffet. Home by 4, we had left at 9am. As soon as I got home Jim and I went to Grand Rapids to pick up his truck. It had broke down while I was gone. $1000 later it was well again. Goodby winnings. There wasn't anything I wanted anyway, I have everything. I even made it back for the 6pm Lions meeting and dinner. Dinner was forgettable but the meeting was good.
Tue. only had bible study in the morning and worked on laundry and the house that afternoon.
Wed. we had WELCA and Jim had bible study in the pastor's office. We women got the downstairs. Soup supper at the Harvest Church with a wonderful service, Ja sure does a nice job getting God's message across.
Today it is Thurs. and not only are we having crafter's at Audrey's we are going to lunch at the Higher Ground Coffee Shop. It is part of Harvest Church. They have the best wraps. Then I will get busy again on the camper. I can even see progress. Jim put a little electric heater in the bedroom and with the fireplace in the living room it warmed it up enough so I could get some work done.
I have to fast today, they draw blood at 9am and then crafters.

ONE WEEK TO GO
Here it is Wednesday, every day this week has been busy and I am trying to get the camper ready. Whoo.
These are the three pictures I wanted to enlarge and have you see - the first is Nancy directing traffic. I know it looks like she is going to get run over. If you look carefully, its my car parked. The second is Dot and Nancy and the third Dot and me.
As you can see we are dressed for the weather. We were out 4 1/2 hours directing traffic for the dog sled race.
Aren't we a trio, the Nanknooks of the North!
We did have fun.

THE FALLING OF THE SNOWFLAKES
Well here it has been ages since I have blogged.
I have gone to D.O.S.S. (wine club) twice since I posted.
I have been far too neglectful.
I know one of the reasons has been is my computer has been driving me nuts. It has become so slow. I am going down to see the kids before we take off. We will stay at Skye's but visit Mac and Alexis and kids will be there.
Wonderful Mac will clean up my computer or I will know the reason why.
We will go down March 1st weekend. We will probably only stay on Thurs. and Fri. nights so we can visit our church for the last service before we head South.
We had a wonderful wine club at Gail's in Jan. (with wonderful lasagna) and then we were at Sue's in Feb. (and had fun with a taco bar) and Sandy Brace came home for a visit from CA. She and Bob her husband have computer jobs out there. We sure miss having them around here.
One of the things I have been involved that has taken up a lot of afternoons is entering ISBN numbers for our local library. The Remer Library is about to become a reality.

Our link. You willl be able to see it is in the old train depot. The chamber let us rent for $1 a year and we pay our share of utilities ect. I am not on the board or anything, just a worker bee and it's a lot of fun.
Been busy, Dot and Nancy came up for a Remer Celebration. The Falling of the Snowflake Festival. There was a 5K run, some kind of skiing, and dog sled races, On Thurs. we went to the meat raffle at the Muni. and then went out to Sue Selinski's for food and fun. The wine flowed but we really were too pooped to pop. Home by 10 I am sure.
On Sat. I have volunteered for spotting at spagetti junction, it is where 5 gravel roads meet in town and we spotters have to make sure the cars stop for the musher and their teams of 6 or 8 dogs. We only had one incident and it didn't involve a car.
I think I got some pictures in twice but I just got a call from my sister Heidi and we are leaving for her cabin today instead of tomorrow so I have to hurry.
So many things to do, so little time, a sister's weekend, YIPEE SKIPEE.
