FAMILY REUNION

Well another family reunion.  It was very pleasant.  So good to have Mark & Jason's family, Heidi and her family and Ali, Mac and Skye and  their families.  There were 21 of us.  It's  funny how to some families that is a small family and to some, it's large.  To me it's small.  My brother Lynn has no children, Sonja is in AZ, Roger has one surviving son in South Dakota and  Paulette just isn't a part of the family anymore.  I am blessed to have the family that will show up way up here.  Jim even played horseshoe with the boys. And Heidi a couple of games.  The food was fun, and the kids sure enjoyed smores on Sat night.  I was up till 11:30 both Fri. And Sat. Nights.  Yipee Skipee.  I finished washing and folding all the sheets and rugs, now I have floors to do.  

DOCTOR DOCTOR CAN YOU TELL?

We went to Duluth on Thurs. for what I thought was my last Dr. Appt. but nooooo, I go back in Sept. for one last visit.  X-ray looked good, at least as good  as it can look.  


We went to Grandma's for lunch and ate outside with the dogs after and then over to Park Pointe and spent some time on the beach.  Fun day.  Came home via Grand Rapids to do a little grocery shopping.  Jim bought me some Roses at The Rose Man.  They just don't last long enough.  Last time.

D.O.S.S.

Well today on Wed. We had wine club. It was our annual pontoon party. We met at the depot and rode out together. Teresa, Jean, Darlene, Nancy, Gail and I drove out together from Remer to Sugar Lake and we met up with Dee and Dala and 6gals from Darla's golf bunch.  There were 14 of us on the pontoon and we were out for over 4 hours, a fun day to be sure.  Lots of food and good conversation.  How generous of Darla and Willie to share their pontoon and lake.

RAIN RAIN GO AWAY

I am gettin a little tired of the rain. I will be doing shorter posts. I just can't bear the thought of loosing all that data after typing it in. The girla left early Wed. Morning. While here Dot made the lightest carrot cake. Jim has been in heaven. I just wish I had it here for this weekend. Best carrot cake I have ever had that's for sure.

HILLTOPPERS

I thought you couldn't loose data after you typed it in. I thought it would go to a draft or something. It just shows you, I KNOW NOTHING. I had so much typed. All gone. The HILLTOPPERS event was a wonderful. We had 29 people total and I loved the devotion I picked out by Dr. David Jeremiah.all about does your face reflect what is in your heart. Anyway, it meant a lot to me. Dot and Nancy worked so hard.nancy was in charge of the punch and coffee and Dot helped out with Jim and the fish. For my birthday I got a new fish fryer and we put it to good use. Beer batter finish, what could be better. Everyone brought a dish to pass.

So much to say - how do you get it all down after the fact. The girls came up to help me get ready for my annual "HILLTOPPERS" fish fry. Jim, and the girls rubbed and scrubbed to get things shipshape.

TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY - I'M HAVING A BABY

This post will be a running post, I should say a walking post, I don't run and my walking is sorta OK. THE HEADER OF MY BLOG TODAY JUST WANTED TO GET YOUR ATTENTION. Woops, left my caps on. I am 71, 71, 71 today. I am ever so greatful to God that got me thus far, I have lost dear friends in their 30ies, 40ies, 50ies, 60ies an so far 2 wonderful classmates in their 70ies. Maybe God wants me to hit 80. Wouldn't that be fun. Well it's 6am and the coffee is made, good too. I need to get dressed for my morning walk. I will take the camera and post when I get back. WELCA

We had our monthly Ladies Aid "WELCA" (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Americal)yesterday. Lots of decisions to be made and so few to do the work. I wish we could get more women involved in our meetings. We not only have a bite to eat at the beginning of our meetings we have a Bible Study out of our Gather magazine and the our meeting. Anyway the group does so many wonderful things and we have a lot of fun. Yesterday was my discombobulated Day. The way I am typing it doesn't look good for today either. I forgot to go walking yesterday and just didn't show up. Silly that I could just forget. They are re-paving the road past our house. It's a big deal. I have never seen so many trucks in my life. Back is doing well, every day I get stronger. I sometimes get tired of having to wait for my strength to come back but I am greatful the Doctors could help so much with the pain. I do realize they were part of the problem but hey, life goes on and things are looking up.

FISHING FOR WALLEYE - THE BIG ONE

Jim went fishing this morning - so early you don't want to know, and I went walking at 6:45.  Walked a mile and a half today.  Wanted you to see the FISH.

SKYE'S SALON

I was able to go to Mpls twice now by myself.  I can't tell you how pleased I am that I feel like I have some on my freedom back.  I wanted to check out Skye's Salon that she is opening and I really wanted her to do my hair last Friday and I helped her paint her old salon in the house this Friday.  Actually we did it on Sat.  On Friday we went over to   Mac and Laura's and had a wonderful time.  Heidi came over and we had smores on their patio, with red wine of course.

Skye went home to work and Mac was kind enough to run me from Plymouth to Mounds View.  Skye and I picked up some supper at Pei Wei in St Louis Park.  So Yummy.  Laura make a really good bean hot dish.  Have to get that recipe. 

I wore my new Kurta to church Sunday.  You all will have to let me know what you think, I have two of them.  I even have a bottle of wine from India.  I feel very special.

DOTTIE - DEBBIE - SUSIE

My second try at this.  It seems they change the formatting every month or so to see if they can confuse me so I will just quit.  I had a whold paragraph done but alas - I lost it.  I didn't think I could loose something once I typed it in but what do I know.

I had so much fun with a visit from Dot - Deb and Susie.  Susie came all the way from Arkansas.  Dottie from Rockford and Deb of course Maple Grove.  I hadn't seen Debbie and Susie for almost two years at least.

We spent a lot of time in the screened in porch on the pole building or "The Barn" as I like to call it.  Bugs are really bad this year with all the rain fall we have had.

The girls make a wonderful Salmon dinner on Tue. eve. and we went to "Chase on the Lake" on Leech Lake Wed. afternoon.  It was too delightful and it just has been too long.

We will have to see if we can't get to Susie's sometime late fall.  We will see.

ANDREW IS HERE AND FISHING THE POND

When all else fails the kids can fish the pond. I plan on going to the cities today to have Skye do my hair. Would be fun to have it done before Dottie-Debbie-Susie come on Tue. We will see. Only staying one night, Skye is opening a salon "Skye's Salon" and I am dieing to see the space. I will prpbably just be in the way but I really need my hair done.

BUSY BUSY BUSY

On Friday Carrie, Dave, Davis, Avery and Finley stayed and on Sat. John, Pam, Andrew, Rachael and Michael came and they will leave today. Busy busy busy. Always good to have kids home. Was so sorry to hear about Sandy's (Tar's wife).accident. I know what it is like falling. She fell against a retaining wallQ and broke her face. Had surgery yesterday. Poor thing. That will take a long time to recover from. The pain. I thought I had a lot more on this page than I have. Ever since they changed the format I have grown to HATE google. I keep asking myself why? What a joke google is. And they are a public traded stock.
